9 hr - After check-in board the vessel, grab a coffee or tea, a Danish pastry, fresh fruit & settle in. After just over an hour we arrive at our first Great Barrier Reef destination - the beautiful "Wonder Wall " on the outer edge of Upolu reef. Snorkel, SCUBA (extra) this stunning reef site teaming with fish and marine life. Experience an informative complimentary Glass Bottom Boat & Adventure Drift Snorkel tour with our very attentive guides. After a morning of activities enjoy a large scrumptious lunch as we cruise to Upolu Cay. Snorkel this "coral garden" tropical oasis - look out for turtles & sting rays! When conditions allow you can even land on this glistening white coral Cay! Enjoy six hours of snorkelling, relaxing between these 2 uniquely different reef sites. After a magical day we return to Cairns serving fresh fruit, cheese and crackers and cake arriving back in Cairns by around 4.15 pm . 2 hr - Ocean Freedom travels to two Great Barrier Reef sites - "Wonder Wall" on the Outer Edge of Upolu reef (a truly magnificent snorkel and dive site) and Upolu Cay Reef - a beautiful shallow turquoise coral garden site. Upolu Cay site is truly magnificent - picture a coral garden reef with lots of colourful reef fish darting in and out of the staghorn coral as you snorkel in these crystal clear shallow waters surrounding Upolu Cay. Look out for turtles popping to the surface for a breath of air, stingrays eagerly scouring the bottom for food. Sometimes you can stand thigh deep on the Cay in the middle of the ocean, other days we can land on this glistening white beautiful coral cay - each day a little mystery of nature but always we have the stunning turquoise waters to snorkel in and around this magnificent Great Barrier Reef area. Make sure you have your camera ready for this truly picturesque site!

Great tour of the reef

We had a super day on this tour. The staff are friendly and ensure that swimmers of all levels are able to experience the reef. Make sure you join the guided tour sessions, far more informative than ‘going it alone’. The quality of food throughout the day is very good. Only negative comment I’d make is the boat was very crowded. Moving around the boat was difficult at times and due to poor weather, people became very territorial about seating arrangements. Now I greatly sympathised with the staff as there was one large group of older tourists that were being incredibly difficult about everything during the day. They seemed to think it was their own private boat for the day. So without this group, maybe it wouldn’t have felt so congested!

Wonderful experience

We had an amazing experience. Staff was awesome. They were always working hard to comfort the passengers. A special thanks to Martina and Meg for giving us special attention while scuba diving and snorkeling. Enjoyed all the snacks . Would highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Cairns.

Terrific Day

Had a wonderful time on Ocean Freedom! Both snorkel/dive spots had a good amount of wildlife. I'd love to go back and do it all over again! The lunch/snacks/drinks hit the spot as well! Thank you to all the crew on board as well!

Needs to be conducted better

Experience was not that enjoyable for me for 2 main reasons - 1. The activity continued despite not so ideal weather conditions. I had chosen this provider specifically because of the mentioned personal attention since I am not that confident with water. Poor weather made it real bad. There were so many sea sick on the boat! It was disheartening. It was also completely opposite to the opposite to the given description which said activity is done in calm waters so you don't have to battle with the currents. 2. No photos and videos during scuba. It was written in the description that instructor will take plenty of photos and videos. There was no such service. It was disappointing. Should have informed in advance. Only plus point was good food and nice crew.
