Coral Sea Dreaming is a unique 2 days / 1 night live aboard experience with access to over 25 moorings spread over the best reefs Cairns has to offer.
Proud to be the owner of one of the very few introductory night diving licences in Australia, we offer both certified and introductory diving, as well as dive courses and stunning snorkeling sites.

DO IT! Best overnight dive and snorkel boat experience

Look no further for an experience of a lifetime!
Support a locally owned company and book it. 2 days and 1 night is the perfect amount of time to spend time snorkeling, diving, lounging on the boat, and enjoying good company. The crew was SO helpful, kind, and fun. Jan was our captain - he made everyone feel safe and definitely knows what he is doing. Scott was a lead crew member - made a KILLER avocado corn salad and other sides (all the food was really good), and Anna was a great dive leader - she took extra efforts to explain protocol, the equipment, and stay nearby slower divers. They were all very competent :)
I snorkel and my this was my husbands first time doing dives certified - it was a great experience for both of us. No other tourist boats were out where we were either.
Other important details to note
- they provide motion sick tablets and water
- cold beers and soda available for good price on board
- smaller boat, fun to meet the other passengers - everyone was super nice and fun to be around
- it takes 4 hours get to outer reef, then you stay out there - the boat will sway you to sleep!
- you can have 4-5 dives - if you don’t dive, you can snorkel at these spots
- the second day you dive in the morning, get back around 4 pm or so

The fact we got to dive and snorkel 4 reef sites was fantastic. We got to do an introductory dive course and got 3 scuba dives in which was brilliant. The experience matched my high expectations and I couldn’t be happier!

Incredible 2 day trip out of cairns with extremely professional crew and great vibes. Went for the diving and stayed for Instructor Scott’s homemade salads and Skipper Jan’s awesome playlist. When not experiencing the breathtaking dive sites there was plenty of down time to chill out with passengers and crew. Special shout out to Mathieu (Divemaster in training) and Ana (an excellent Instructor on trial) who remained extremely safety conscious and were just as stoked to find cool nudibranchs and rare fish underwater as I was.
Amazing Coral Sea Dreaming Private Charter

Our family group of 7 adults have just returned from a fabulous 2 days/1 night private charter on the Coral Sea Dreaming, on the beautiful Great Barrier Reef out from Cairns.
3 of our group chose beginner dives & the other 4 enjoyed lots of snorkelling on & around Miln Reef! We all loved what we chose. So many spectacular fish, amazing corals, some sharks, rays & turtles were seen by both groups! The safety briefings were easy to follow & helpful.
We stayed the night on a more sheltered part of the same reef. I could not believe we had the reef to ourselves! The generator was going all night to maintain the power source for toilets, lights & refrigeration etc, however earplugs resolved that & the gentle rocking of the boat lulled us to sleep.
We had a very enjoyable, relaxing & comfortable 4 hour trip to & from the reef under sails & motor, with a couple of dolphins making a brief appearance enroute back to Cairns.
Our crew - Jydee & Scott & Captain - Yarn were really great. Nothing was was too much trouble. They were always polite, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, cheerful & worked well together with no fuss. I thought the crew & Captain were extremely attentive to our needs.
We all really enjoyed the food on board. The crew made the delicious meals from scratch & there was plenty of fresh fruit & veggies & other snacks—something for everyone.
Ivan, the owner of the boat, greeted us as we arrived at the Coral Sea Dreaming & when we arrived back at the marina after our trip. Also our Captain showed us on a map where we had been & the reefs & other points of interest on our journey. I thought these were nice gestures.
I would highly recommend a private charter on the Coral Sea Dreaming.

What an incredible trip with Jan, Jedi and Travis - everything was super easy and calm! I haven’t dived in 6 years and the team made me feel so relaxed under water. I will definitely be back with my friends and family as this is a trip you do not want to miss out on!!
